Thief in Rosenberg Palace! Not really
When we vacationed in Copenhagen we did the touristy thing and visited a local palace. This being Rosenberg Palace. While in the palace we had heard sirens but it hadn't registered that they were coming towards us! The alarm for the crown jewels had gone off and the police were racing to the scene of the crime. My family and I were told we weren't allowed to leave the premises. So there we sat in the palace looking out at the police and other members of the public, waiting for the crime to be investigated.
After a long 30 minutes we were finally let out after being told it was a false alarm. What a relief! So we went to check out the crown jewels for ourselves and when we finally got into the room we were told to evacuate but stay on premises AGAIN! This time the guards had their guns ready and pointed and we were all feeling the thrill. We waited and waited and it turned out to be another false alarm! After a little chat with the guards we learnt that this happens about 2 to 3 times a day every summer. So it wasn't too exciting for them but as a tourist that doesn't see armed guards everyday we came home with a story to tell!
